The UAE Cyber Security Council, in an effort to protect the safety of the public, has prevented over 50,000 cyberattacks per day.
The most targeted sectors for cyberattacks are banking, finance, health, oil and gas.
A cyberattack takes place when unauthorised access is gained to devices, be it a phone, tablet, laptop, desktop or server, and then steal or destroy the data.
The UAE is ranked 5th worldwide on the Global Cybersecurity Index of the International Telecommunication Union of the United Nations, which monitors the importance of cybersecurity in 193 countries.
