Expo City Dubai is hosting the Wings For Life World Run on Sunday, 7 May, a run that raises awareness of spinal cord injury, where participants take part on behalf of people that are unable to.
The run takes place at the same time in 200 locations around the world, including Doha, India, New Zealand, Mexico, the United States of America and more and will begin at 3pm in Dubai.
Before the run, participants have to download the Run App to set their own distance based goal for the race.
What makes the race unique is there is no fixed finish line, however features a virtual Catcher Car, which will start 30 minutes after the race begins. The purpose of the run is to beat the Catcher Car to the distance the participant has chosen.
Entry fees are around Dhs 84 and participants can book via the Wings For Life World Run website, and money from entry fees will contribute towards research in finding a cure spinal cord injuries.
Since the race began in 2014, it has helped in funding 276 projects around the world to find cures for spinal cord injuries.
