Abu Dhabi has been ranked the smartest city in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for the third consecutive year and also placed 13th for overall development.
The data released is according to the IMD Smart City Index by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland along with the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
The study is done annually by 120 residents in 118 cities worldwide and assesses the health and safety, mobility, activities, opportunities for work and education system, and governance in each city.
Smart cities help in contributing to the overall development of a city and Abu Dhabi has set many interactive platforms in place to meet the needs of the public.
