Located on the 34th floor of Pullman Dubai Jumeirah Lakes Tower, Fit & Spa Lounge overlooking Sheikh Zayed Road and the Dubai Marina skyline is an appreciable escape for anyone who is looking to pamper oneself with a tailor made spa treatment.
The lift opens directly into the spa reception area, and as you step out you can smell a strong yet soothing ‘peppermint’ fragrance that instantly starts to push you towards feeling peaceful.
The spa’s decor elegantly supports white colour tones complemented with a beige tinge. It has two female, two couple and one male spa rooms along with gym, sauna and steam facilities. Male and female sections have separate entries.
As we arrive at the venue, the spa manager welcomes us with a warm smile and has us sit in a comfortable lounge. We are served a cup of organic tea, and she then asks us to fill in the consultation form.
One can choose between a 60 minute and a 90 minute massage; the options include Signature, Swedish, Balinese and Deep Tissue massages. Moreover, if you book a spa treatment, you get full access to the gym and pool facilities.
If you don’t know which massage is a right fit, the spa manager helps you out. We were advised to go with ‘Relax and Renew Swedish Massage’ because it is suggested to anyone looking for a break from the continuous fatigued feeling, as drudgery does take a toll on your body and a Swedish massage, according to the spa manager, is the best for those wanting to relax their entire body.
You can tell your therapist if you have a focus area, ahead of time. The massage begins with inhaling of aromatic oils. The therapist then begins to rub the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Over sixty minutes, the entire body is massaged, even though we tend to doze off halfway through. When the massage finishes you know that you made the right choice. Post massage you are served a refreshing cup of aromatic tea.
