Review: Danat Jebel Dhanna Resort

A pleasant three-hour drive from Dubai, the 5-star Danat Jebel Dhanna resort is set in beautiful, landscaped gardens and overlooks Sir Bani Yas Island - a natural habit and wildlife sanctuary.

The hotel’s interior is modern and airy and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Our room was lovely - spacious and comfortable with an exceptional sea view.

The resort is a haven of tranquillity. We swam in the crystal clear waters and took a leisurely walk along the 800m private beach, relaxed on the shaded sunbeds, then enjoyed a cocktail at the pool’s swim-up bar.

Tides restaurant hosts breakfast, lunch and themed dinner buffets. Breakfast offers full English, Arabic and Continental dishes; lunch includes a delicious selection of international starters, mains and desserts; and the seafood themed dinner included oysters, mussels, prawns, crab, lobster, and a variety of fish - all fresh and cooked to our specifications. The award winning Zaitoun Italian restaurant has a diverse menu of delicious contemporary Italian cuisine. Everything was fabulous!

At the Body and Soul Health Club there is a gym, tennis and squash courts, a spa and beauty salon. A selection of water sports, deep sea fishing and trips to Sir Bani Yas Island are available. There is also a day-care centre for children, with games, an outdoor play area and lots of grass to run around on.

Verdict: Love it! The perfect getaway for a relaxing, romantic weekend break, or fun-filled family vacation.

Standard room rates start from Dhs 1,600 weekdays and Dhs 950 weekends. The on-going weekend promotion starts at Dhs 499.
