Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will launch four new public bus routes and revamp 13 existing lines on 17 July 2026. This major network expansion is designed to improve connectivity between residential zones, commercial hubs and the Dubai Metro network, significantly cutting journey times for daily commuters, visitors and cross-emirate travellers.
The network changes follow an extensive review of passenger demand and travel habits across the emirate. By introducing direct links and altering existing alignments, the transport authority aims to provide a more flexible, reliable and efficient public transport system that accommodates Dubai's growing population.
The four new lines target rapidly growing commercial and residential communities, offering high-frequency links during rush hours:
- Route 35: Links International City with Dubai Silicon Oasis, running at 30-minute intervals during peak hours.
- Route 85: Connects Al Quoz (Al Khail Gate) to the Dubai Internet City Metro Station, running every 20 minutes during peak times.
- Route 37A and Route 37B: A dual-directional service operating between International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis Lake, running every 30 minutes during peak periods to serve students and professionals heading to Academic City.
To increase operational efficiency, 13 existing lines are undergoing immediate modifications. Key adjustments include the rerouting of Route 67, which will now terminate at Oud Metha Bus Station instead of Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, giving passengers direct access to the Metro Green Line. Route 84 will now finish at the InsuranceMarket Bus Stop rather than the Mall of the Emirates, while Route 88 will terminate at the ONPASSIVE Metro Bus Stop.
Routes 96 and X94 towards Al Quoz are being moved to run along Al Yalayis Street and Jebel Ali, bypassing Expo Road to avoid heavy traffic bottlenecks.
For Dubai residents living in suburban communities, Metro Link feeder services are being expanded. Route F06 is extended to Nad Shamma, F29 will now serve Umm Al Sheif, and F36 will extend further into Al Barsha South 2.
The improvements offer significant benefits, providing seamless, budget-friendly transfers from regional connections directly into commercial centres including Dubai Internet City.
Commuters are advised to check the updated timetables via the RTA’s official S'hail smart application before planning their journeys from Friday onwards.
