Traffic Gets Easier Towards Karama

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Satrurday opened two brand new bridges at Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street intersection to ease the traffic and congestion heading towards Karama, Deira and the World Trade Center towards Sheikh Zayed Road.

One of the bridges has two lanes in both directions from Zabeel Street to Sheikh Rashid Street, and the other is also built with two lanes on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street. There will also be a tunnel expected to be open towards Al Garhoud and Mina Rashid in the second half of this year.

The new bridges are part of the RTA’s master plan to improve the infrastructure of Dubai to accommodate the needs of the growing traffic volumes. HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chariman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA said, “The intersection of Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Streets is a key part of a big project for improving Al Shandagha roads network. The project is located at the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Street in the direction of the northern end of Al Shandagha Network, and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street in the direction of the intersection with Al Kuwait Street.”

More information on RTA’s Intersection Project can be found on their social media and website.
