Rare Photos Of Sheikh Zayed On Display

In the spirit of the Year of Zayed, Dubai Municipality Al Kifaf Centre in Jafiliya is presenting a 100-photo selection of rare black and white photos that present an insight into the life of UAE’s great Founding Father.

The pictures show the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan across Dubai and internationally, including in the desert, out on the old streets of Dubai, and attending cultural festivities. The photos also feature UAE’s first prime minister Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and other Arab and world leaders.

The display has received a great number of viewers and are part of the initiatives of the Year of Zayed, dedicated to recreating late Sheikh Zayed’s era and embodiment of humanitarian work.

"The late Sheikh Zayed knew that doing good deeds has no limits. Therefore, he will always remain as a symbol of humanitarian action on the Arab and international levels” said Hussain Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality (DM) who unveiled the display with a number of directors and employees.

The exhibition is free to the public and will be at Al Kifaf Centre for two weeks until it is moved to another Dubai Municipality, allowing residents across the Emirate a visual transportation back in time.
