UAE Weather: More Rain, Cooler Temperature Expected This Week

Unstable weather could affect parts of the UAE this week. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted cloud formation and rainy spells in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, from Monday, 30 March evening through Wednesday, 1 April.

Authorities said that the current period falls within the 'Sarayat' season, a spring transition in the Gulf marked by rapidly changing and unstable weather between mid-March and early May.

For residents, this is not a stay-indoors-all-week kind of forecast, but it is a week that rewards flexibility. While the first part of the week looks a little unstable, things begin to settle down in the latter half. The safest wardrobe plan for the week is breathable daytime clothing, one light outer layer for evenings, and practical shoes that can handle dust or a brief shower. Anyone planning sea trips should be more cautious in the first half of the week, especially on Wednesday, 1 April.

Monday, 30 March

Monday is expected to be slightly cloudy, with a slight gradual rise in temperatures. In Dubai, temperatures are forecast to reach a high of 28°C in the day, with a low of 20°C at night. In Abu Dhabi, temperatures are expected to reach a high of 28°C with a low of 21°C. This is generally a reasonable day to be outdoors for walks, errands, or light evening activities, though beach or boat plans are less ideal because of choppier sea conditions. Light breathable clothing should work during the day, with a thin extra layer useful later at night if you are staying out.

Tuesday, 31 March

Tuesday turns more unsettled, with a chance of rainfall across the country. Dubai is forecast to see a daytime high of 28°C and a low of 20°C at night. Abu Dhabi is forecast to record a high of 28°C and a low of 21°C. This is a day to keep outdoor plans flexible rather than fixed, especially in the afternoon, because showers or a thunderstorm may interrupt travel or open-air activities. Short outdoor stretches are fine, but indoor plans are the safer choice for long social outings, children’s activities, or anything weather-sensitive.

Wednesday, 1 April

Wednesday looks like the most difficult day of the week. The NCM bulletin says skies will be cloudy, with a chance of light to moderate rainfall, and a slight decrease in temperatures. In Dubai, temperatures are forecast to reach a high of 28°C during the day with a low of 20°C at night. In Abu Dhabi, the forecast calls for a high of 28°C and a low of 21°C. Residents can still step out for essentials, but this is the least comfortable day for extended outdoor time because gusty winds, dust, and possible rain can make conditions messy. Indoor plans are a better bet overall.

Thursday, 2 April

Thursday brings a calmer setup. The day will be slightly cloudy. By night and into Friday morning, humidity rises enough for a chance of fog or mist over some parts of the country. Dubai is forecast to reach a high of 27°C and dip to a low of 19°C. Abu Dhabi is expected to see a high of 27°C and a low of 20°C. Outdoor time becomes more manageable again, especially later in the day, though drivers should stay alert late at night and early the next morning if mist forms.

Friday, 3 April

Friday looks like the most pleasant day of the week. Conditions are expected to be stable, with humidity lingering overnight into Saturday morning in some areas. In Dubai, temperatures are forecast to reach a high of 28°C and a low of 20°C. In Abu Dhabi, the forecast shows a high of 28°C and a low of 20°C. This is the best day of the week for outdoor plans, casual evening outings, and family activities.
