Cyclists gearing up for Dubai Ride, one of the largest community cycling events in the city and part of Dubai Fitness Challenge, can look forward to a smoother start this year. Free bike rentals are once again offered this year, through a partnership between Careem and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
On Sunday, 2 November, participants can unlock a free single-trip pass for bike rental on the Careem app by entering the promo code DR25. Bikes will be available at Careem’s pop-up stations at Entrance A: Museum of the Future and Entrance E: Lower Financial Centre Street, as well as at over 200 Careem Bike stations across Dubai.
To redeem the free ride, participants should download the Careem app, select 'Bike', choose 'Single Trip Pass', and apply DR25 at checkout. A helmet and prior registration on the Dubai Ride website are required. While card details must be entered for security, no charges will apply during the event.
Cyclists can collect bikes between 3am and 8am, with no extra fees even if rides exceed the usual 45-minute limit during this window. Bikes will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dubai Ride routes open at 6.15am and close by 8am, offering cyclists a unique chance to pedal through some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, car-free and full of energy. Cyclists will have two routes to choose from, including the 12km 'Sheikh Zayed Road Route' and the 4km 'Downtown Family Route'. The 'Sheikh Zayed Road Route', which is suitable for more experienced cyclists, goes from Dubai World Trade Centre to Safa Park and back. The 4km 'Downtown Family Route' follows Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and goes past Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa, and is suitable for all ages and abilities.
