His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has called on everyone across the UAE to take part in Flag Day celebrations by raising the national flag at 11am on 3 November.
In a message shared on X, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed urged citizens and all institutions in the country to join the annual event, describing it as a gesture of unity and allegiance to the country and its leadership.
Flag Day was first introduced in 2013 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed to commemorate the accession of the late President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2004. Since then, Flag Day has become a beloved national tradition that brings communities together in a shared moment of pride, even though it is not marked by a public holiday.
Flags will be raised across schools, workplaces and public spaces, as people come together to celebrate the nation’s spirit and achievements.
Schools across the country often mark the day with special ceremonies, cultural performances and activities that teach younger generations the meaning behind the flag and the unity it represents.
