Dubai Museum Of Art: A New Museum That Floats On Water

WAM

Dubai’s vibrant art scene has reached new heights with the unveiling of a new project called Dubai Museum of Art (DUMA), a striking new landmark taking shape on the waters of Dubai Creek. The project, developed by Al-Futtaim Group and designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando, was inaugurated in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Even though the opening date has not been announced yet, once open, DUMA will stand as a powerful symbol of Dubai’s vision to be a global capital for culture and arts.

DUMA will be a place to explore, learn and connect. The venue, which will be floating on water, will host rotating art exhibitions, talks, workshops and cultural events throughout the year, offering something fresh every visit. Families, students and art lovers alike can expect a welcoming space to enjoy local and international art in a world-class setting.

With its exhibition halls, educational spaces, restaurant and viewing areas overlooking Dubai Creek, DUMA will offer a complete cultural experience.

The museum's design is inspired by the sea and the pearl, symbols deeply connected to Dubai’s heritage. Its smooth, circular form lets in streams of natural light, creating a calm and inspiring space for reflection and creativity.
