Social media content creators in the UAE have been given more time to comply with new advertising regulations, as the UAE Media Council has extended the 'Advertiser Permit' deadline to 31 January, 2026.
The extended grace period offers creators additional time to complete the process through the UAE Media Council’s website.
Announced earlier this year, the rule requires anyone posting promotional content, whether paid or unpaid, to hold an official permit. The move aims to bring greater transparency and accountability to online advertising across digital platforms.
The permit is free for the first three years for UAE citizens and residents, with renewal options available after that. Certain exemptions apply, including individuals promoting their own businesses or products through personal accounts, as well as minors, under 18 years old, engaged in educational, cultural, sports, or awareness-related activities.
