Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Unveils 'Diya-A Universe Of Light'

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre | Gallery

A new light has dawned at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi with the launch of 'Diya – A Universe of Light', a breathtaking addition to the mosque’s Light and Peace Museum. The installation transforms the mosque’s Peace Dome into a living canvas of colour, sound and movement.

Using 360° projection and more than 1.5 billion light units, Diya takes visitors on an extraordinary journey through the landscapes, culture, and heritage of the UAE, from starry skies and green oases to towering mountains, golden deserts and calm coastlines.

At its heart stands the Ghaf Tree, recreated with over 166 million light units as a symbol of resilience, community, and tolerance. The installation captures both the UAE’s deep-rooted heritage and its forward-looking innovation.

The installation is designed to invoke a reflection on light as both a physical and spiritual symbol, and on the mosque’s founding vision by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as a beacon of peace and coexistence.
