Dubai Police Caution Against Viral Doll-Burning Social Media Trend

Dubai Police

Dubai Police have warned the public about a dangerous social media trend that encourages children to set dolls on fire to imitate horror scenes. Authorities said the so-called 'burning evil dolls' challenge poses serious risks, including fires, toxic fume inhalation, injuries and even fatalities.

The dolls involved are typically made of highly flammable materials such as plastic and synthetic fabrics, which can ignite quickly and release harmful fumes. Police have urged parents to closely monitor their children’s online activity and to discuss the dangers of following unsafe viral challenges designed to attract attention and views.

Officials also reminded the community that sharing or reposting videos promoting such acts is a legal offence that could result in prosecution for endangering lives or property.

Dubai Police encouraged community members to report any content promoting dangerous challenges through official channels or social media platforms.

The warning forms part of the force’s ongoing Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign, which aims to educate the public about online safety and responsible digital behaviour.
