Dubai Police Crack Down On Motorists With Unpaid Fines

Dubai Police / X

Dubai Police have intensified their efforts to enforce traffic compliance, impounding 28 vehicles during recent inspection campaigns targeting motorists with multiple unpaid fines and overdue registrations.

The initiative aims to enhance road safety and curb reckless driving by holding persistent violators accountable. Inspections revealed that several of the seized vehicles had accumulated tens of thousands of Dirhams in fines, with some registrations expired for years.

Officials confirmed that vehicles with unpaid fines exceeding Dhs 6,000 are subject to impoundment. Motorists are being urged to settle their dues promptly through the Dubai Police app, which offers flexible payment plans to help prevent additional penalties or vehicle confiscation.

Advanced tracking technologies are used by Dubai Police to locate non-compliant vehicles, both on roads and in public parking areas.

Authorities emphasised that the campaign’s purpose extends beyond enforcement and is part of ongoing efforts to promote safer driving behaviour, ensure fair compliance, and maintain the city’s reputation for orderly, responsible road use.
