UAE’s First Hospital Vertiport To Be At Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi

WAM

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has announced plans to establish the UAE’s first hospital-based vertical airport or 'vertiport', in partnership with Archer Aviation, a company developing aircraft designed for urban mobility.

The project marks a major step forward in integrating advanced air mobility into healthcare, offering faster and more sustainable transportation for patients and emergency medical needs.

The vertiport will enable electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft to directly access the hospital, allowing passengers to travel to nearby destinations in just minutes, significantly reducing travel times compared to traditional road routes.

The collaboration will explore both non-emergency passenger transport and time-critical organ delivery to the hospital.

Archer’s Midnight aircraft will be used for this purpose, with the ability to carry up to four passengers with minimal noise and zero direct emissions, which is a significant improvement on the traditional helicopters.
