Dubai Police have honoured a secondary school student whose honesty turned an ordinary day into a remarkable lesson for his classmates.
Essa Abbas Muhammad Abdullah, a student at Dubai Secondary School, found a wallet containing cash and a cheque valued at Dhs 200,000. Instead of keeping it, he acted quickly to notify the authorities and ensure the wallet was returned to its rightful owner.
In a surprise ceremony held at the school, officers from Al Qusais Police Station presented Abdullah with a certificate of appreciation in front of his peers. The recognition was led by Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Al Hashemi, Deputy Director of the station, under the 'We Reach You to Thank You' initiative, which acknowledges community members for acts of responsibility and integrity.
Lt. Col. Al Hashemi commended the student for his conduct, describing him as a role model for honesty and civic duty. The student expressed pride in the recognition, calling it a memorable moment he could share with his classmates.
