Former Newcastle United striker Papiss Cissé has signed with UAE’s Al Qabila FC, bringing his vast experience and goal-scoring prowess to the club as they push for promotion in their debut season.

Al Qabila FC is a Dubai-based football club competing in the UAE Third Division League, the fourth tier of Emirati football. Established in 2024, the club was co-founded by professional footballer Soheil Varahram, with the name 'Al Qabila', meaning 'The Tribe' in Arabic, symbolising unity and ambition. In July last year, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan was appointed as club president, marking a significant step in the club's vision

Al Qabila FC confirmed the signing on social media, unveiling Cissé with his new number 18 shirt. The Senegalese international, who scored 37 Premier League goals for Newcastle and represented Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup, is expected to be a crucial addition to the squad.

The 38-year-old striker has had a decorated career, playing in top leagues across England, Germany, France, China and Turkey. His arrival is expected to boost Al Qabila FC’s attacking strength and elevate their ambitions in UAE football.
