Ministry of Health And Prevention Launches Training Workshops To Enhance School Nursing Skills

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched a series of training workshops aimed at enhancing the skills of school health staff and improving their ability to accurately and reliably record students' health data. These workshops support the National Programme to Combat Obesity in Children and Adolescents.

Held at MoHAP’s headquarters in Dubai, the Teacher Training Institute in Ajman, and Sharjah, the workshops focus on training school nurses and physical education staff in measuring and recording data for students aged five to 17.

These sessions are designed to establish standardised protocols for collecting and analysing data on early obesity indicators. The goal is to enhance preventive health policies and enable more informed decision-making based on accurate scientific evidence.

The four-day training workshops included multiple sub-sessions, aligning with the Ministry’s strategy to manage preventive and community health programs, enhance nationwide quality of life, and ensure precise data collection for the National Programme to Combat Obesity in Children and Adolescents. The sessions also aimed to advance public health, particularly among school students.

Participants were trained on accurately and thoroughly completing student data record forms, a crucial step for maintaining high-quality data in the National Programme to Combat Obesity in Children and Adolescents.

Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Public Health Sector, highlighted that these workshops are part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to bolster community health and meet the goals of the National Programme to Combat Obesity in Children and Adolescents. This initiative is one of several aimed at equipping school health staff with the latest knowledge and skills to provide exceptional care for children.
