UAE Weather: Rain Continues In Several Parts Of The Country

Over the weekend, residents and visitors across the UAE experienced gloomy weather with rain, thunder, and heavy downpours in several areas. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued an orange weather alert signalling ongoing unstable weather conditions throughout the UAE. Rainy clouds are expected to blanket most parts of the country until 6pm tonight. According to the NCM, rain intensity is expected to decrease by afternoon, with a decrease in the chance of rain by tonight.

Temperatures today will drop by 2°C to 4°C across most areas, notably in Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah. Coastal regions of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah will experience temperature highs around 22°C to 25°C, while Dubai's maximum temperatures will be close to 20°C. Temperature lows will range from 15°C to 19°C, with minimum temperatures dropping below 4°C in mountainous regions.

To ensure public safety, Dubai Police has issued a mobile alert advising people to avoid beaches, valleys, and low-lying areas. Speed limits are also reduced as heavy rain, hail, thunder, and lightning hit large parts of the country. Abu Dhabi Police has also lowered speed limits on key roads. 

Forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday predicts partly cloudy to cloudy weather with a chance of rainfall. Humidity is expected to increase by Wednesday morning, with a possibility of fog or mist formation over some coastal areas, especially western areas. Winds will be moderate, becoming fresh and strong at times with clouds causing blowing dust and sand. Seas will be rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
