Dubai stands out as the top destination for adventure, food, and fun in travel. And thanks to its ever-growing popularity, Dubai has made it to the list of busiest travel routes in 2023. Yep, you read that right! In 2023, flights connecting Dubai, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Cairo became some of the busiest routes globally. The rankings for the busiest routes in 2023, released by Aviation consultancy Official Airline Guide, are determined by the number of seats sold from January to December.
In the Top 10 busiest international routes, the majority of routes are from the Asia Pacific region with two from the Middle East and one from Europe and USA.
Flights between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore have topped the list with a total of 4.8 million seats purchased this year. Second on the list is flights between Cairo and Jeddah, with a little more than 4.7 million seats bought.
When it comes to Dubai, Dubai and Riyadh ranked sixth on the list with a total of 3.9 million seats purchased.
When it comes to rankings, Singapore's Changi Airport takes the lead, featuring three routes in the top 10 list. Here is the full list of the busiest international routes in 2023:
