With the start of a new year, most of us have set some goals and resolutions. As a lot of 2020 was spent at home with restrictions of movement, home schooling and WFH, though we can go back to gyms, a lot of us still feel happier and more comfortable working out in our own surroundings. In order for our exercise to be effective, we need some fitness equipment to help us with our workout. Here are some fitness pieces that will help us burn those extra calories.
1. Yoga Mat
A yoga mat is an absolute essential to have in your workout equipment. As it is extremely light, you can roll up and take it with you to the park or use it at home. Yoga mats provide cushioning while you exercise and helps with balance. It can be used for dance, yoga and any other form of exercise that you want to try out.
2. Resistance Bands
These stretchy bands can really help in changing your workout game. Resistance bands can be used while doing intensive or light workouts and help build muscle control. They are lightweight and super easy to store and are a great substitute for massive machines that take up all your space.
3. Dumbbells
Gone are the days when dumbbells were only for people that wanted to get buff. Dumbbells are a great way for the people that are looking to tone their bodies and to build muscle. They also help in getting stronger. Although when starting out with dumbbells, it is better to start small and build the weight up rather than starting with a heavier weight to avoid the risk of injury.
4. Foam Roller
A foam roller is a great tool to have in your arsenal if you are someone that constantly gets sore muscles after a workout. Foam rollers are a great way to loosen your muscles before or after a workout. It helps in keeping you flexible and helps prevent injuries.
5. Exercise Dice
If you are one of those people that get bored while working out and love to switch things up, the exercise dice was made for you. The exercise dice consists of various sides each indicating different workouts you can do. All you have to do is roll the dice and do the workout given on the side you roll! You can also make a DIY version by noting various exercises down on a piece of paper and numbering them. Roll out the dice and depending on the number shown, do the exercise written on the paper!
