As soon as you walk into Tribes, you get a real experience of African culture. You really get into the music and theme of the whole place. The menu offers an excellent choice of traditional African dishes along with delicious mocktails. If you’re lucky enough to go on your birthday, you will receive a traditional African drum dance next to your table!
What we ate
There was so much on the menu that sounded amazing and we wanted to try everything! To start with, we had the Oxtail Sakshouka (baked eggs with capsicum ragout & braised oxtail meat) and the Mozambique prawns (pan fried peri-peri prawns, served with steamed rice & green mango salad). For mains, we had the Wagyu burger as well as the 500g Wagyu blade steak with a side salad, which was a real meat feast. I personally enjoy my steaks rare and it was cooked to perfection. For dessert, we shared the chocolate Malya pudding served with creamy vanilla ice cream.
Verdict
Good value for money, great vibe with excellent service and an all-round brilliant place to dine.
