Dubai Health has announced that more than 145 successful robotic surgeries have been performed at Dubai Hospital since the launch of its robotic surgery programme in the second half of 2022, a milestone that underscores the emirate’s leadership in adopting advanced medical technology.
According to Dr. Yaser AlSaeedi, Head of Urology and Director of the Robotic Surgery Programme at Dubai Health, robotic-assisted operations have significantly improved patient outcomes by enhancing precision, reducing blood loss by over 90%, and cutting recovery time from two weeks to less than three days.
“Robotic surgeries at Dubai Health represent a significant step forward in the use of smart technologies in the operating room”, Dr. AlSaeedi said, highlighting that the approach strengthens patient safety, reduces complications, and allows patients to resume normal life sooner.
Robotic surgeries at Dubai Health cover several specialities, including urology, general surgery, and gynaecology. Surgeons use high-precision robotic systems with 3D visualisation, guiding robotic arms to perform complex procedures through small incisions. The method not only improves surgical accuracy but also reduces pain and infection risk.
