Dubai Creek Harbour: The Area With A Touch Of History

Dubai Creek Harbour lies between Dubai Design District and Dubai Festival City, and is a master-developed community from prestigious developer, Emaar Properties.

The area plays a significant role in the city’s heritage and history.

Dubai was a fishing and maritime trading village from the middle of the 19th century to the late 1960s, with the Creek acting as its focal point and primary economic hub.

Since then, a lot has changed, and the city's centre has moved to areas like DIFC, Downtown Dubai, and Business Bay in the west.

The 2016 opening of Dubai Water Canal, the man-made addition to the Creek that runs through Business Bay, further cemented this change.

However, Dubai's most significant waterway, the Creek, has not vanished into obscurity, as it is now the location of Dubai Creek Harbour, a significant addition to the city's future.

Local Area

Dubai Creek Harbour mixes the glitz and glamour of modern urban living with environmentally friendly architecture and a distinctive lifestyle offering.

Organised into nine distinct districts over an area of around 60 million square feet, the Island District is the only district currently inhabited, and is the first to be developed.

In 2019, the first apartments were handed over, and numerous projects are now close to being finished.

The Island Neighbourhood

The primary residential area in Dubai Creek Harbour is The Island District, featuring 13 high-rise developments and two hotels, The Vida Hotel and The Address, which will open soon.

The first apartments to be handed over were The Dubai Creek Residences, closely followed by Harbour Gate, Creek Gate, Creek Horizon, Creek Rise, Creekside 18, 17 Icon Bay and The Cove.

The Address Harbour Point, The Grand, Creek Edge, and Palace Residences are among the ongoing building projects.

Most apartments in Dubai Creek Harbour have one to three bedrooms, while there are a few with four bedrooms, and a limited number of penthouses.

Additionally, there are a few townhouses along the Creek Edge development's podium level and a couple near the river.

Creek Beach

Creek Beach is a novel idea, bringing beachside living to the city centre, situated directly across from the Island Neighbourhood.

Bayshore, Breeze, Summer, Sunset, Surf, and Vida Creek Beach are high-rise buildings that comprise ‘Creek Beach’, and each project consists of a number of skyscrapers enclosing pedestrianised courtyards, grouped around a constructed beach front.

Everything one could anticipate from a vibrant seaside destination in Dubai, such as a boardwalk, a promenade of eateries and outdoor workout facilities, will be present in the beach area, which is cordoned off for safe swimming and water-based sports.

Way of Life

When the community is finished, it will be comparable to places like Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina, with all amenities residents could need, including restaurants, shopping malls and medical facilities.

Currently, the Island District is the main emphasis of the lifestyle offering.

For Dubai Creek Harbour's remaining districts, a lot is planned.

In addition to Creek Beach, the neighbourhood includes Dubai Square, the largest Chinatown in the Middle East and a large technology-focused shopping mall.

Accessibility

Dubai Creek Harbour is expected to be a destination for urban professionals and growing families. With its abundance of hotels, a yacht marina and the upcoming beach, it will provide plenty of possibilities for work and pleasure.

In close proximity to Dubai Festival City in the Ras Al Khor district of central Dubai, the community enjoys an excellent position.

Ras Al Khor Road and Nadd Al Hamar Road, which both have direct connections to Al Khail Road, one of Dubai's major highways, border Dubai Creek Harbour.

Downtown and Business Bay are less than 10 minutes away.

The neighbourhood has access to Hartland International School and GEMS International School in Dubai Hills. Repton School in Nad Al Sheba is the closest school, a 15-minute drive away.

The closest and most well-known hospital is Za'abeel Hospital, which is around 20 minutes away, with other fairly close medical centres, including Al Garhoud Private Hospital and Rashid Hospital.
