Law No. 17 of 2023, regarding the emblem of the Emirate of Dubai, has been issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. According to this law, it is mandated that Dubai possesses a unique emblem that reflects its core values and principles. This emblem is recognised as the emirate's property and is protected under the provisions of this law and its associated regulations.

As outlined in the law, the emblem can be used in government facilities, official documents, websites, and during government-related events. Private entities can also use it, but only after obtaining prior approval from the Dubai Ruler or a designated representative.

Using the emblem incorrectly can result in penalties and punishments, which may include imprisonment for a minimum of three months and a maximum of five years, along with a fine ranging from Dhs 100,000 to Dhs 500,000 or one of the two penalties specified in the law.

The Chairman of Dubai's Ruler Court will make the required decisions to put this law into action. This law cancels out any other laws that might go against it and becomes effective as soon as it is published in the Official Gazette.
