The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has officially launched 'Skills for Life', a mandatory new integrated framework designed to embed practical, social, and personal capabilities across all private school curricula in Dubai.

Announced under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the educational framework will be fully rolled out at the start of the upcoming 2026-27 academic year. The framework is built to support students continuously from pre-kindergarten all the way through to high school graduation.

For parents and pupils, the framework actively shifts the focus of daily learning toward long-term future readiness and real-world capabilities. Curricula will formally incorporate dedicated instruction in financial and consumer literacy, mental resilience, digital safety, nutrition, sustainability, and independent daily life management.

The initiative launched during the UAE's Year of the Family and directly underpins the Dubai Education Strategy 2033.
