The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) is officially returning for its 15th edition, set to open on 8 December 2027. Announced by the Dubai Media Council at the close of the Arab Media Summit in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the relaunch marks a major step forward for the region's entertainment and creative economy.

The revived festival aims to act as a global launchpad for Middle Eastern filmmakers, offering regional creatives a direct route to international investors, producers, and markets. Speaking on the strategic relaunch, Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, stated that the 15th edition will not merely recreate past achievements, but will build a modern industry ecosystem designed to empower local talent. Hesham Sultan Al Olama, CEO of the Dubai Films and Games Commission, added that the commission will work alongside local and global partners to release further details on upcoming programmes.

The return of DIFF brings high-calibre cinema, international red-carpet events, and valuable networking opportunities back to the city. First launched in 2004, the festival ran for 14 editions, helping establish Dubai as a major cultural hub. Its return reinforces the city's commitment to supporting homegrown artistic talent while attracting global film industry leaders.
