Dubai Police completed a comprehensive traffic safety training program targeting more than 140 security guards across 35 private and public schools, the General Department of Traffic announced on Saturday, 29 August 2026.
The practical workshops were designed to boost safety around school zones and minimise congestion during peak pick-up and drop-off hours.
The training focused on practical skills, including:
- Regulating traffic flow at school gates during morning and afternoon rush hours.
- Managing minor traffic collisions near school grounds to prevent gridlock.
- Utilising the Dubai Police "We Are All Police" smart app for rapid incident reporting.
- Ensuring safe boarding and alighting procedures for students using school buses.
- Implementing initial emergency responses before first responders arrive on site.
The initiative forms part of a broader traffic deployment for the 2026 - 2027 academic year, which includes 253 dedicated security patrols and 28 aerial drones monitoring key bottlenecks.
Parents commuting in Dubai can expect safer, better-coordinated drop-off zones during peak school runs. By empowering ground staff to manage minor vehicle incidents independently, the initiative aims to reduce localised gridlock on major residential routes like Hessa Street, Al Wasl Road, and Nad Al Sheba.
