UAE-ites, it's time to plan an extended break as the next long weekend holiday is around the corner. The Federal Authority For Government Human Resources and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation took to social media to confirm Friday, 29 September, will be a public holiday for public and private sector employees. The holiday is to mark Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) birthday.

It means, just like public sector employees, private sector employees will enjoy a long three-day weekend from Friday, 29 September to Sunday, 1 October. Work will resume on Monday, 2 October.

After this, UAE employees will enjoy the last long weekend of 2023 in December. Friday, 1 December will be a holiday for Commemoration Day (or Martyrs Day), followed by UAE National Day celebrations on 2 and 3 December, which is a Saturday and Sunday. And in 2023, we will mark the UAE’s 52nd National Day.

Post this, the next public holiday will be in 2024, and the offical list for the same is yet to be out. Stay tuned for all the updates.
