Emirates Extends Inflight Meal Preordering Service To Europe

Emirates

Dubai-based carrier, Emirates Airlines, had recently introduced an inflight meal preordering initiative on UK routes and now, after receiving a positive response, the airline has extended this service to and from European cities. The European cities include Warsaw, Venice, Rome, Bologna, Prague, Vienna, Moscow, Istanbul, Dublin, Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Brussels and Madrid, as well as to and from Seychelles and Mauritius.

The inflight meal preordering initiative allows passengers in Business Class to preselect their main course between 14 days and 24 hours of departure. It ensures that passengers get their preferred meals and helps the airline reduce food wastage. In the upcoming months, several destinations across the globe will get this feature.

Passengers can experience fine dining in the sky by preordering their favourite meal on the Emirates website or on the app. They can choose from regionally inspired dishes with locally sourced ingredients up to a fortnight before a flight. Some food options include chocolate hazelnut pancakes with apricot compote, pan-fried salmon trout with saffron cream, polenta with spring onions for dinner and more. And once you select the meal, the cabin crew onboard will view the preordered selection and serve you your dish.

Meal preordering is an addition to the existing suite of AI-enabled customer preference tracking data and cabin crew reports onboard Emirates, which facilitate menu planning, optimal food loading and waste minimisation.
