To celebrate the opening of Expo 2020, the world-famous aerobatic display team the Red Arrows, will represent the UK during the first week of the event.

The 20-minute display will be held on 8 October at 4pm.

Known for their precision flying and teamwork, the show will offer guests at the Expo a stunning display.

In celebration of the UAE's 50th golden jubilee, another show will be held at the Corniche in Abu Dhabi on 5 October at 4.30pm.

Before the performance, a STEM engagement event will showcase the mixture of science, technology, engineering and maths required to service and fly with accuracy.

The team pilots will also meet the public at the UK pavilion, before the show.

Squadron Leader Tom Bould, the Red Arrows Team Leader said, "Through our trademark combination of precision formations and exciting, agile flying, the Red Arrows displays in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be a wonderful, colourful chance for the team to help mark the UAE’s 50th anniversary celebrations and look forward to the next 50. This year we are displaying some of the biggest shapes in our inventory, including formations called Swan and the Big Vixen Roll with all nine jets just six feet apart, while rolling upside down. The Synchro Pair – Reds 6 and 7 – will perform the Boomerang, which is a brand-new manoeuvre for 2021 and is an arena-filling spectacle."
