RTA Revises Public Transport Operating Hours

As a result of the easing of restrictions of movement in Dubai, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has updated the timings of its public transport services. 

RTA will apply all preventive and proactive health measures highlighted by physical distancing onboard public transport means, and at the entry of transport stations and service centres. Riders and clients will be obliged to wear face masks for their safety and the safety of staffs and operators. RTA will continue with the existing procedures in taxis where the number of riders is restricted to two at the rear seat and using plastic isolators for higher safety levels. 

The Dubai Metro Red and Green Lines will operate from Saturday to Thursday from 7am till midnight, and on Friday from 10am to midnight, with the last journey on the Red Line from Rashidiya Station to UAE Exchange Station will start at 10.54pm, and the last journey from the UAE Exchange to Rashidiya Station will start at 10.53pm. The last journey on the Green Line will start from Creek Station to Etisalat Station at 11.21 pm, and the last journey from Etisalat Metro Station to the Creek Station will start at 11.20 pm.

The RTA will run 54 trains on the Red Line and 17 trains on the Green Line during peak hours to serve 46 stations, and the frequency during peak times on the Red Line will be every 2.38 minutes and on the Green Line every 5 minutes. 

The Dubai Tram will be in service on Saturday's to Thursday's from 7am till midnight, and on Fridays from 10am til midnight with tram-trains running every 8 minutes. 

Bus services around the city bus will start from 6am to 11pm, however the intercity bus service will remain suspended until further notice. 

Marine transport will be operating only on seven lines from 7am till 10pm, and the Tourist lines, Dubai Water Canal lines and the Al Ghubaiba to Sharjah Aquarium Stations line will remain closed. 

All of Dubai's 10,936 taxis and 7,000 limousines will be operating between 6am and midnight, and during the national sterilisation programme will run on demand and can be booked through the apps. U drive, Ekar and Careem Bike services are available between 6am and 11pm.

Paid parking in designated paid parking zones applies between 8am and 10pm.

RTA has put in place a comprehensive disinfection system for daily sanitisation of trains, buses, vehicles, stations and centres.
