Looking to book a RTA taxi? Then you need to download the Careem app and book the ride through the Hala platform, which was officially launched on 29 August, as very soon this will be the only way you can make a booking.
Those who are used to booking an RTA taxi through the call centre number 800 9090, will not be able to do so from 7 December as the RTA transfers 100 per cent of the taxi fleet on to the booking platform.
Officials say, through the latest system, passengers will be able to confirm their booking within 10 seconds and get a taxi within just 3.5 minutes on average. It will also help them track their routes, rate the drivers, check the fare in advance, and pay through cash or credit card."
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency says, "Among the additional benefits that customers will enjoy from this innovative way of booking a Dubai taxi, is the ability to raise any questions or concerns directly via the Careem in-app chat."
However, the RTA call centre will not close and will continue to handle issues related to safety and lost and found.
