Ahead of the most anticipated visit of the re-elected Chinese President Xi Jinping to the UAE on Thursday, July 19, the town has been painted in the colour red, symbolising the Chinese flag and the strong bond between the two nations. The state is celebrating UAE-China week until Tuesday, 24 July to honour the President’s historic and first visit to the UAE after his re-election.

To mark the celebrations and to welcome President Xi, the Burj Khalifa on Tuesday evening impressed visitors with its intricate LED lighting show displaying the Chinese flag. On Wednesday evening, the Dubai Frame was lit up in the colour red, and that’s not all, on Thursday morning, residents woke-up to a small surprise on their mobile phones as network names are changed to WelcomePresChina.

Other buildings to follow suit with a light show include the Adnoc Headquarters and Hudayriat Bridge in Abu Dhabi.
With all these preparations grabbing the eyeballs of onlookers, it seems that the UAE is all set to host one of the biggest political visits to the country.
