In a tragic event, a mother fatally threw her son off the balcony of a Dubai hotel before jumping herself.
The European mother was experiencing harrowing trauma upon a diagnosis that revealed that her son was suffering from cancer. She left behind two letters, one for her husband apologising for her actions and one for Dubai Police explaining her reasons.
The Dubai Police investigated the possibility of foul play, however, the mother was shown on CCTV throwing her four-year-old from the sixth-floor and then following him.
Director of the Crime Scene Department at Dubai Police, Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Hameed Al Merri said there was no cause to consider foul play. “We thought there was a criminal motive behind the incident, but the video showed what happened. She had come from another emirate with her son and rented a room before committing suicide,” Lieutenant Colonel Al Merr said.
The incident occurred in Jumeirah Lake Towers earlier this month.
