Dubai International (DXB) has become the first non-mall venue to join the Dubai Mallathon, introducing indoor walking tracks inside Terminal 3 Departures to encourage fitness during the summer months.
The initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and and Minister of Defence of the UAE, aims to make physical activity accessible in air-conditioned environments. The extension into DXB brings the citywide wellbeing programme to thousands of airport workers and travellers.
The inaugural DXB session featured two morning walks through Terminal 3, bringing together Dubai Airports staff, members of the wider "oneDXB" aviation community, and People of Determination.
Additional sessions will take place every Friday morning throughout August across key sections of Terminal 3. The series will culminate on Friday, 28 August, with a dedicated walk commemorating Emirati Women’s Day, highlighting the contributions of Emirati women across the national aviation sector.
The citywide Mallathon provides climate-controlled spaces to maintain daily step goals. Running through 15 September 2026 across major shopping centres and now DXB, the event builds on its 2025 edition, which drew more than 40,000 participants and set a Guinness World Record for the largest mall run event.
