The next public holiday in the UAE is expected to be for the observance of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Birthday, known as Mawlid Al Nabi.
According to the UAE's official public holiday framework, Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Birthday is one of the recognised religious holidays observed by both public and private sector employees. The holiday is determined by the Islamic Hijri calendar, meaning its Gregorian date shifts annually. Recent forecasts place the observance on or around 25 or 26 August, subject to official confirmation.
Under regulations introduced in recent years, certain public holidays may be moved to the beginning or end of the week to create longer weekends, although any decision regarding a date adjustment would require an official announcement closer to the holiday.
Following Mawlid Al Nabi, the remaining public holidays on the UAE calendar are Commemoration Day and the Eid Al Etihad (National Day) holiday on 2 December.
