As the Holy Month of Ramadan begins in the UAE, the nation’s leaders are reflecting the values of compassion and generosity by granting pardons to prisoners across the emirates.
In addition to offering these individuals a fresh start and the opportunity to reintegrate into society, the rulers have also pledged to cover the inmates’ financial penalties, ensuring they can observe Ramadan free of burdens and reunited with their families.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE has ordered the release of 1,440 inmates from correctional institutions, on occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 1,856 prisoners of different nationalities from Dubai’s correctional and punitive establishments, on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has released 407 prisoners in Sharjah on the first day of Ramadan 2026.
His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of the Emirate of Ajman, ordered 134 inmates to be released from correctional and penal institutions in the Ajman Police General Command.
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has ordered the release of 407 prisoners in the emirate. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, has given directives to proceed with the necessary legal procedures to implement this decision.
His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, pardoned 125 prisoners on the occasion.
This reflects the country's keenness to bring happiness to their families and give them an opportunity to start a new life.
