5 cuisines to try at City Walk this weekend

European-style streets in the heart of Jumeirah…welcome to City Walk. Along with designer stores, attractions such as an indoor tropical rainforest, an immersive gaming centre and cinemas, this outdoor destination also boasts a variety of restaurants and cafés.

Here are five worth trying:

1. Indian – Farzi Café

Founded by renowned restaurateur Zorawar Kalra, this modern progressive restaurant takes Indian food to another level with its playful approach. Think dishes served with foam and liquid nitrogen and presented in innovative ways with charming props.
Call 04-3942556.

2. French – Aubaine

The London-born French restaurant serves simple and elegant café cuisine – the stuff the French are known for. Priced a wee bit higher than your usual café fare, the dishes worth having on your table include the burrata, salmon tartare, eggs benedict and le croissant Aubaine (loaded with smoked chicken, caramelised onions and poached egg). We don’t need to tell you the pastries and tarts are a must. Bon appétit! Call 04-5108391.

3. Asian - Dragonfly by Tim Raue

Two-Michelin starred chef Tim Raue brings delicious Asian fare to Dubai with Chinese spices, Thai flavours and Japanese simplicity. The portions are small but the flavours are big. To walk out impressed, ensure you order his signature wasabi langoustine and Peking duck dim sum as well as the seabass with black truffle. Call 04-3427044.

4. Italian – Sapori di Bice

Casual chic, the restaurant will transport you to an Italian family dining room. The scrumptious dishes are a result of fresh ingredients and simple cooking techniques. Start with the Caprese. Opt for pasta as its homemade with organic flour. If you decide on pizza, the Diavola is the star of the menu. No meal is complete without their homemade ice creams and gelatos. Call 04-3442550.

5. American - Sugar Factory

The American import is popular for its candy goblets but the food is just as good. Warning: portions are massive, so sharing is recommended. The menu offers pizzas, pastas, burgers, seafood and lots more. Our top picks would be the sampler platter (smaller portions of onion rings, chicken fingers, buffalo wings and mac and cheese pops), the Taco Mexicana pizza (all flavours Mexican on a pizza base) and the Nutella chocolate chip pancakes. Don't forget to wash it down with one of the signature beverages. Call 04-4489073.
