Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai announced that certain foreign expatriate residents can now obtain Emirati citizenship.
People with special talents namely doctors, scientists, artists, investors, as well as people with high regard in their fields, can be selected by the UAE authorities for citizenship.
The new law will also introduce dual nationality, where the individuals and their families can choose to retain their existing citizenship as well as be a citizen on the UAE.
