Premier League Players Stolen Cars Found In Dubai

Essex Police X

Two stolen cars belonging to two English Premier League footballers were found in a cargo ship heading to Dubai.

The Stolen Vehicle Intelligence Unit (SVIU), part of the Essex Police in the United Kingdom, recovered the Ferrari and Range Rover Sport that were stolen, in containers travelling to Dubai from London Gateway Port in Thurrock.

The cars are part of 517 vehicles, valued at over Dhs 74 million, that have been recovered by the unit in 2023.

A statement from the Essex Police said, "Once a car is taken, thieves may look to quickly sell it on, even for way under the market value, strip it for parts, or ship either the whole car or parts of the car to areas including the Middle East and Africa. There, the vehicles can be sold for two or three times more than they would cost in the UK."

One of the football players visited the SVIU's base to receive his car and thanked the unit for their efforts in locating the vehicle.
