Dubai-based airline Emirates has launched a new travel insurance product that includes medical coverage for injuries linked to conflict-related incidents, alongside protection for trip disruptions, emergency medical evacuation and baggage-related claims. The carrier said the policy is available to customers purchasing eligible tickets through its booking channels.
The airline described the offering as the most comprehensive travel insurance package it has introduced to date. The policy is backed by Travel Guard and includes benefits that are typically excluded from many standard travel insurance products, particularly medical coverage arising from conflict-related events.
According to Emirates, customers covered under the plan may also receive airline-managed accommodation and extended-stay assistance if airspace closures or other major travel disruptions prevent them from continuing their journey. Additional benefits include trip cancellation protection, compensation for lost or delayed baggage, and emergency medical support while travelling abroad.
This is not the first time Emirates has expanded travel protection for passengers. In 2020, the airline introduced complimentary multi-risk travel insurance and COVID-19 coverage for ticket holders, a programme developed with AIG Travel during the pandemic. The package included medical expenses, trip cancellations and travel disruption benefits and was presented by the airline as an industry-first initiative at the time.
