Here’s where you can celebrate Indian Independence Day in Dubai

As India celebrates its 70th Independence Day today, three Dubai restaurants will be celebrating the occasion with special offers at dinner time.

iZ at Grand Hyatt Dubai will be offering diners a menu with popular Indian dishes. The specially crafted set menu is priced at Dhs 180 and includes starters such as papadi chaat and dahi vada, vegetarian and non-vegetarian kebabs, mains such as murg makhani, meen moley, dal makhani served with biryani, naans, rotis, pickles and papadums. Dessert is a parfait boasting the colours of the flag. Available from 7pm onwards. Call 04-3172221.

While in Business Bay, JW Marriott Marquis’ Indian restaurant Rang Mahal will serve diners a four-course menu made of sensational new Indian dishes, with each dish dedicated to a famous scientist from different regions of India. The special menu is priced at Dhs 275 and will be available from 6pm to 11.30pm tonight. Call 04-4143000.

And if you’d like a good ol' British curry, make your way to The Croft at Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites. Not an Independence Day offer, but a new addition to its weekly events, the Curry Night (held every Tuesday) focuses on a flavoursome menu of some of the world’s favourite curries – chicken tikka masala, coconut shrimp curry or the garden curry - with a contemporary British twist. All curries will be served with rice, pickle and authentic Indian breads. Priced from Dhs 95. Available from 6pm to 11pm. Call 04-3194000.
