Probably best known for its fabulous Friday Hollywood brunch, Delphine Restaurant & Bar originates from LA - the favourite hangout of the Hollywood A-list. Delphine’s captures the laid-back attitude of its Californian roots, served up with a warm and personalised service. The Dubai space is in keeping with this ethos, reflecting the best of Hollywood’s casually chic style, set amongst distinct restaurant, bar and lounge areas. Think shades of gold and black, velvet furnishings, art deco inspired lighting, marble surfaces and big comfortable leather chairs, all of which give it a glamorous 1920s feel. Cuisine is Californian Bistro, infused with contemporary Arabesque touches to mirror the Dubai location.
What we ate
We started with a delicious heirloom tomato salad with whipped feta cheese and pickled cucumber, and a delightful ahi tuna with avocado, frisee citrus salad and crispy wonton. For the mains, we tried the freshest line caught seabass with shellfish broth, giant couscous and grilled prawns and the melt in the mouth double cooked lamb ribs with pomegranate glaze and dukkah. For dessert, we couldn’t resist the Lime Cheesecake with citrus meringue, salted peanut and virgin margarita sorbet - yum!
Verdict
Great, style and great food! Definitely worth a visit in our book.
