It's the first weekend of the New Year, and what a weekend it is! There are firerworks, light shows, an illusionist, concerts and so much more. Who says January is quiet? Take a look at some of the great things you can see and do this weekend.
When 3-4 January
Where Al Seef, La Mer and The Beach JBR
Have you had enough of fireworks? Of course you haven’t and why would you, they never fail to impress. Well, this weekend there are more opportunities to see more fireworks as part of the annual Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) celebrations, where the skies are once again lit up. Displays can be seen over the weekend at Al Seef at 8:30pm, at La Mer at 9pm and The Beach in JBR at 9:30pm.
When 3 – 5 January
Where Burj Khalifa
New Years Eve Light Show
Did you miss the spectacular New Years Eve display on the worlds tallest building? Fret not as Emaar have announced that the light show that accompanied the amazing firework display will be performed each night up until 31 March. Though the fireworks won’t go off again, each show will feature lights and lasers from the full height of Burj Khalifa along with the water show from the Dubai Fountain. There are 3 displays each night over the weekend, at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm.

Where Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium
K-Pop has really made an impact over the last few years and Korean pop music is getting popular in more cities around the world. If you are a fan then you are in for a treat as the sensational girl group Momoland, take to the stage for their first ever performance in the Middle East here in Dubai. The 9 member group, who were formed just 3 years ago, hit the big time at the start of last year with the release of their hit “Boom Boom”, which went viral and has achieved over 300 million views on YouTube. When 4 January
Where Global Village
The regions largest multicultural theme park continues its series of live concerts with Saudi Arabian artist Rabeh Saqer. Saqer has a well regarded and prolific music career spanning over 35 years and is renowned as one of the best singers in the region, with hits including “Sahratna Al Laila”, ‘Sabrin” and “Bisoucat”. There is no extra charge for the show, and is included as part of the Dhs 15 entry price to the park.

Where Dubai Police Academy Park
The Ripe Market has been a popular and regular outdoor community event in Dubai for a number of years, aimed at supporting local businesses selling their unique products to both residents and visitors. The Ripe Market has evolved over the years and along with all the arts and crafts on show, it also features a farmers market, a range of food trucks and activities to keep the little ones occupied.

The Art Of Magic World Tour
Dutch Magician Arnaud returns to Dubai this weekend. Performing for the third time at The Junction, his latest show, ‘The Art of Magic’, will give the audience a combination of stand-up comedy, story telling and unbelievable illusions, that will entertain and mesmerise.

Where Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi
AFC Asian Cup
The AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 features the top Asian footballing teams from the Far East and the Middle East, compete over four weeks at stadiums throughout the UAE. The largest field in the tournaments history will see 24 nations, play in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Al Ain. The opening game of this years tournament sees hosts the UAE take on neighbours Bahrain.
