Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened a new cycling track at Jumeirah Beach.

The track connects the Jumeirah Street cycling track with the King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street cycling track.

The Etihad Museum, Dubai Marina and Al Qudra cycling tracks are also interconnected with the new track.

The initiative has been undertaken in an effort to increase the happiness of residents and transform Dubai into a bicycle-friendly city.

The track at Jumeirah Beach connects to various tourist hubs including Sunset Mall, Open Beach, Dubai Sailing Club, Kite Beach, Umm Suqeim Park and Burj Al Arab.

At Sunset Mall, Al Manara Mosque and Umm Suqeim Park, cyclists can also avail shared bike services.

The speed limit is set at 30km/h for amateurs and 20km/h at dedicated or shared tracks with pedestrians in urban areas.
