GEMS Modern Academy is celebrating 35 years since the school opened its doors and to mark the occassion, Sunny Varkey, GEMS Education Founder and Chairman, along with alumni from all around the world, took part in the 35th-anniversary celebrations.

Students from previous school choirs from the earlier years performed a version of Fill the World with Love from the musical, Goodbye Mr Chips.

The celebration was held online with alumni from all the past 35 years, sharing their fond memories of their days in school.

GEMS Modern Academy offers students the Indian curriculum and is the only school with the curriculum to receive an outstanding rating.

Nargish Khambatta, Principal at GEMS Modern Academy said, "Today, Modern turns 35! And what a meaningful journey it has been. From humble beginnings in porta cabins tucked away in Karama, to today's plush campus at Nad Al Sheba, the school community has witnessed a shift in infrastructure, pedagogy, culture and philosophy. Through all this change, the one thing that has remained constant is our profound sense of gratitude for the relationships that we, as Modernites, have nurtured for the past 35 years. Modern is now a living, vibrant, global learning ecosystem that inspires children to be positive and sustainable change-makers."
