P&G And Carrefour Aim To Plant 26 Forests

Carrefour, operated by Majid Al Futtaim, has partnered with Procter and Gamble (P&G), who have leading brands including Herbal Essences and Tide under their wings, by contributing towards sustainability by committing to plant 26 forests every year.

Shoppers can support the initiative for sustainability by buying P&G products from select Carrefour stores in the UAE.

The partnership will offer customers a voucher with a QR code to plant a tree, on spending Dhs 50 or more through the #ForestsforGood program.

Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai Festival City and 30 other Carrefour branches will carry this offer.

The initiative will help contribute to the 2030 goals with 5 forests planted in the UAE and 11 forests planted across Asia and Africa.

26 forests will also be planted in the next year.

P&G additionally aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its operations and supply chain, from raw material to retailer, by 2040.

Mohamed Hamouda, VP of P&G Gulf said, “P&G is committed to actively protecting nature through our #ForestsForGood program. UAE businesses are in a unique position to lead efforts to improve our environment and engage consumers in the process. Our longstanding collaboration with Carrefour on its 26th anniversary here in the UAE offers both organisations an opportunity to demonstrate the power of brands to enact positive environmental change. We look forward to building on this coalition through future initiatives with trusted and mindful partners.”
